Including a pair I just splurged on.
I’d be lying if I said I haven’t spent years perfecting the perfect fall wardrobe, from investing in chic sweaters to traverse through fall temperatures to the perfect cropped jeans. It’s no secret autumn is my personal favorite season for fashion and accessories. Plus—who doesn’t love fall activities and foliage?
However, an essential I covet from year to year are the amazing boots I’ve collected along the way. I buy a fresh pair every season to excitedly put into rotation. And the one style that seems to never go out of style is none other than the trusted Chelsea boot, a rugged, durable, versatile footwear that everyone (and I mean everyone) should own multiples of.
I recently splurged on a pair from celeb-loved Barbour, but I also have a slew of favorites you should absolutely know about, too. Check them out below, and shop them for yourself. You can wear them everywhere and with everything.
Barbour Harmby Chelsea Boots
$270 at Nordstrom $270 at Barbour.com
Barbour is a British heritage brand known for its high-quality outerwear, particularly its iconic waxed jackets. With that, many celebrities proudly wear the iconic brand, including Kate Middleton. It’s even mentioned in pop culture as the ‘It’ jacket, but another thing the brand makes with the utmost quality are its boots.
From barn to rain to Chelsea boots, Barbour doesn’t skimp on quality or style. I love the elongated fabric piece on this Chelsea boot, which I recently decided to splurge on. From afar, it looks like corduroy, and it is one of the easiest Chelsea boots to dress up or down, and while the price might seem steep, I knew they would last me for seasons to come, which is why I was so willing to splurge on them.
Frye Sabrina Chelsea Boots
$398 $278 at Thefryecompany.com
I’ve had these Frye Chelsea boots for a little over five years now, and they’re still holding their own! I’ve rehealed them a couple of times because when I tell you they’re a staple in my wardrobe, I really mean it. While pricy, they hold up so nicely and take really well to a leather polish every now and then, restoring them to their fresh-out-of-the-box state. They’re comfortable, and they offer an interesting heel that many Chelsea boots don’t have. The unique shape and fit of them is what sets them apart but also makes them the perfect addition to your favorite pair of jeans or with tights and an awesome dress. Plus, they’re on sale, so yay!
Blundstone Lug Chelsea Boots
$215 at Blundstone.com
I went to college in the freezing cold state of Vermont and with that, it was clear it was a rite of passage to own a pair of Blundstone boots. Now, they’re popular everywhere, and as much as I started wearing them for practicality some odd years ago, I now like to style them for fashion as well.
I’ve gone through many pairs but the lug-sole style is absolutely worth the extra money to invest in. They’re the same waterproof and durable Chelsea boots as original Blundstone styles everyone loves but with a little extra tracking to help when hiking, slushing through snow or gripping icy sidewalks.
All that to say, Chelsea boots are an essential, and if you don’t yet own a pair, or want to refresh your collection, check out more options that are worth it below.
