No matter your phase of life, body type, or style preferences, finding a swimsuit that you love and feel confident wearing is not a quick task, especially since there are millions of options. “When it comes to trying to figure out the best bathing suit style for you, the material, the trim, and cut are the three most important factors,” says Luciana Melo, a New York City-based stylist. With help from fashion experts in the swim and lingerie departments, I pored through the platform and researched hundreds (maybe thousands) of styles to find the best swimsuits on Amazon.
These vetted options include one-pieces suitable for chasing children and volleyballs down the beach, as well as bikinis perfect for soaking up the sun. The best swimsuits on Amazon range from under $30 to luxury brands, and IMO, no style is better than another.

Minimalist One-Pieces
There is rarely a beach or poolside occasion where a classic one-piece isn’t appropriate. However, shopping for one-piece swimsuits can feel especially tricky—the single garment has to fit both top and bottom, and many people aren’t one size all over. In my expert opinion, opting for a one-piece in the larger of your two sizes is the better bet. Adjustable features and super-stretchy materials provide a personalized fit and easier sizing.
Relleciga Women’s Bandeau One-Piece

Alexandra DeAngelis, a New York City-based stylist, often recommends suits like this from Herseas because of the brand’s amazing color options and power mesh lining that provides extra shaping.

Triangle Tops
A triangle bikini is among the most timeless and versatile swimwear options. Should you choose it, the simple cut will likely remain a part of your collection for years to come. The classic tied triangle is completely adjustable and offers an exact fit, and modern iterations with thicker bands and straps give extra support. Expert tip: Longer tankini styles can add coverage and variety to the historic swimsuit design.
Suvimuga Halter String Triangle Bikini
$25 at Amazon
Why We Love It: “A string bikini is always a classic choice,” says DeAngelis. “There are so many different ways you can wear them now. You can wear them the traditional way. You can flip them upside down and tie them differently. It's fun.” This set includes a cheeky, tie-side bottom and removable padding. Plus, it's available in an impressive 37 colors and patterns.
Who It’s For: This quintessential bikini is an easy choice for those who aren’t afraid to show a little skin. It’s become a go-to for low-rise lovers and shoppers wanting a swimsuit that can be adjusted to fit their bodies exactly.

Bandeau Tops
Bandeau tops are ideal for those hoping to spend time in the sun without having to worry about pesky tan lines or straps that stick out from under a beach coverup or button-down shirt. Adjustable closures and extra-stretchy fabric can help these tops feel secure and don’t require constant adjustment. Removable straps make the style even more versatile and can be easily added or removed according to your needs.

Supportive Swim Tops
Just because you need support from your swimwear doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style. “There are so many more options for people with larger chests that are supportive,” DeAngelis says, adding it’s getting easier to find options that don’t “feel sad and frumpy,” but still have an underwire, band, or straps that provide comfort and support.
CRZ Yoga Women’s V-Neck Bikini Top
$26 at Amazon
Why We Love It: This bikini top features removable pads and a tie-free design that saves some time putting it on and prevents the end-of-day discomfort that tightly tied neck and shoulder straps may cause.

Best Luxury
While Amazon has a seemingly infinite number of affordable swimwear options, it carries quite a few luxury brands InStyle editors love. “Higher cost swimsuits are usually made from better and stronger materials, so they’re going to last longer,” DeAngelis says. “I personally believe it’s better to spend a little more money, get fewer things, but have something that’ll last longer.” My personal favorites include brands like La Blanca’s Sunshine 79 and L*Space, with which DeAngelis has had positive experiences. The online retailer also carries designer brands like Michael Kors, PatBo, and Simkhai.
Sunshine 79 Women’s Plunge Mio One-Piece
$138 $102 at Amazon
Why We Love It: This Sunshine 79 suit comes in 37 vibrant prints and colors—some are even reversible. The open-back, V-neck suit offers moderate coverage and tummy control. It makes a great, elevated addition to almost any swimsuit collection.

High-Waisted Bottoms
High-waisted bottoms are an elegant choice that often provides more coverage than their low-waisted counterparts. Some high-waisted options even offer tummy control for those who want extra support. DeAngelis notes that high-cut, high-waisted swimsuits elongate the legs. If you’re seeking a higher-coverage option, Melo says boyshorts may be the way to go. “I’m working with a new client who wanted to feel a little bit more sexy while also being comfortable,” Melo says. “I suggested a halter top with boyshorts, and she's been loving that idea.”
Cupshe Women’s High-Waisted V-Neck Bikini Set
$38 at Amazon
Why We Love It: This bikini provides a bit of tummy control and higher coverage for those wanting to show a little less skin than typical styles. Anyone interested in vibrant hues will be happy to see the bright color options, too.
Who It’s For: The support and shaping of the top are next-level for those with larger breasts, and the V-neck cut allows for more shaping for those with smaller chests. Truly, it’s a win-win.
Material: Nylon, spandex | Colors: 37 | Size: XS–XXL
Lecieldusoir Women’s High-Waisted Swim Shorts
$20 at Amazon
Why We Love It: Melo and fellow stylists have noticed an uptick in boyshort swim styles this year—likely because the longer shorts provide ample coverage without looking frumpy or sacrificing style. The tie sides allow for length adjustments and add a detail reminiscent of the ‘70s.
Who It’s For: Melo has found that the added coverage of a boyshort, especially high-rise options, is a style she’d recommend to anyone looking for extra comfort and security while swimming or playing sports on the beach.

Low-Waisted Bottoms
The low-rise style has returned to the limelight due to Gen Z’s nostalgia for the late 1990s and 2000s. “With low-rise pants coming back, we're starting to see some more low-rise bikini bottoms as well,” DeAngelis says. These bikini bottoms come in a variety of cuts and coverage levels that generations of low-rise lovers have never turned away from. A simple, low, and straight-across bikini bottom is easy to mix and match, and can be paired with a tankini or sporty box top for added coverage.
Relleciga Women’s Thong Bikini Bottom
$15 at Amazon
Why We Love It: Go big or go home, right? This cheeky (literally) bottom certainly is not for the modest. It shows off curves and comes in endless color options that make it easy to match a top you already have.
Who It’s For: This tie-side thong bottom is perfect for a low-rise lover who isn’t afraid of minimal coverage. And, unlike other tie-side bottoms, these sit fairly low and can’t be tied to sit higher on the hips.

Herseas Bow-Shoulder One-Piece

Why We Love It: This stylish, modest one-piece is chlorine- and saltwater-resistant, ideal for long days at the beach or pool. The bow detail is made with a fully removable sash, which can also be tied around your waist or removed altogether to switch up your look. This design is also available as a high-waisted bikini.
Who It’s For: This versatile suit offers coverage and tummy control, providing an extra boost of confidence and comfort. The design feels elevated enough to wear as a top before or after spending time in the sun, IMO.

What to Keep In Mind
- Fabric: “Polyester is great because it’s fast drying and it’s also fade resistant,” DeAngelis says. “That’s a big issue a lot of people have, and polyester is going to hold the dye better than some other fabrics will.” As for nylon, she says, “it’s lightweight, but it’s super strong, so it’s going to fit snugly, and it’s not going to stretch out as much as other fabrics might after you wash it a bunch of times.”
- Cut: Depending on desired support and coverage, activity levels, and the swimsuit-friendly events you wish to attend, the right swimsuit can vary. Melo has found that, as someone who purchases a different size in her tops and bottoms, reviews are the best way to determine if a one-piece swimsuit or set will work for you. “Many women are two different sizes,” Melo says. “Especially when you’re purchasing a one-piece, looking at the reviews, seeing how people feel comfortable, and knowing if a particular cut is suitable for your body is very important.”
- Size: Given individual body types and coverage preferences, some swimsuits fit more comfortably a size up from your usual size. Many on the list above feature tie and lace-up closures that provide a secure, personalized fit at your typical size or one size up if you’re hoping for a little extra coverage. Kristen Lamontagne, a stylist who has worked with Victoria’s Secret Pink, says that checking an individual product’s size chart and a quick scroll through its reviews can also provide incredible insight into how the item fits.
- Color: Picking the perfect swimsuit color can be challenging, especially with over 30 colors and patterns to choose from. “Solid colors or classic prints, like polka dots or stripes, will stand the test of time, and be cute forever,” Lamontagne says. If you’re torn, leaning into the colors or patterns you wear daily can give direction to your search.
- Care: Many swimsuit brands recommend hand-washing or line-drying to extend the longevity of your swimsuit. I’ve found that the easiest way to handle a hand-wash-only swimsuit is to wash it immediately after wearing, using a small amount of laundry detergent. They’re typically dry and ready within a few hours. While many don’t mention it in their care instructions, rinsing swimsuits in cold water after wearing them can prolong their life by removing chlorine, sunscreen, saltwater, or any other substances that could cause discoloration if left on the garment.
Your Questions, Answered
What is the best Amazon swimsuit brand?
Relleciga offers one-pieces, bikinis, and tankinis (sold as separates and together) in a variety of coverage options. Its swimsuits frequently receive thousands of five-star ratings, and several clock in at over 4,000 happy customers. Relleciga suits are made of polyamide (a form of polyester) and spandex, meaning they’ll keep their color and stretch through several washes. The brand’s suits are high-quality and hold up through several seasons. Mixing and matching styles is easy, too.
Are designer swimsuits available on Amazon?
Yes, Amazon carries several higher-end brands. Popular designer swimsuit brands include La Blanca, L*Space, Solid & Striped, and more. It also features swimwear by designers such as Michael Kors, Simkhai, Adriana Degreas, and PatBo. Shopping for luxury on Amazon can be a bit tricky, though. Higher-end products rarely have many reviews, if any. In my experience, these brands also offer smaller size ranges and are not always well-stocked. On the other hand, luxury brand prices are sometimes better on Amazon than on other retail sites. Just beware of unverified third-party sellers—these can be scams.
What is the best swimsuit for tummy control?
For those who want a slimming, smoothing effect from their swimsuit, Herseas is the place to look. “They have this power mesh lining in a lot of their tummy control swimsuits, but it's hidden and it's flattering,” DeAngelis says. “You don't see it. It's really thin, but it really sucks you in. And they have some really cute styles in great colors and patterns too.”
What is the best swimsuit for smaller chests?
“If you have a smaller chest, it gives you more options,” DeAngelis says. “You can play around more.” If you don’t need the support of an underwire or thicker straps, she says triangle, strapless, or convertible bikinis are an easy and versatile choice.
What is the best swimsuit for large breasts?
“For someone with a larger chest, going for one that has an underwire and a wider strap is going to offer more support,” DeAngelis says. Melo also recommends halter styles to those with larger busts.
How do I feel confident in a swimsuit?
If you find something that works with your body, that makes you feel confident, no matter the trend, it’ll be something that you feel good in,” says Lamontagne.
