The trio took Broadway in style.
Beyoncé embraced the underwear as outerwear trend as she reunited with Destiny’s Child over the weekend. The “Independent Women” stars took on Broadway for their latest rendezvous as Bey and Kelly Rowland stepped out to support Michelle Williams for the opening night of her Death Becomes Her performance – and they came dressed to impress. On Thursday, Nov. 21, the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer put a barely-there twist on geek chic as she paired designer granny panties with black-rimmed glasses.
After the performance, Bey was the ultimate fangirl as she took to Instagram to share some of the best group reunion moments from the show. Ten years after the Y2K girl group released their final album Destiny Fulfilled, Destiny’s Child was back together for another musical performance.
In addition to a video montage set to her bestie anthem “II Most Wanted,” the multi-hyphenate shared a photo dump of her posing with her mom Tina Knowles, Rowland, and Williams during the celebratory evening. Williams–who plays Viola Van Horn in the Broadway show–could be seen wearing a sparkly iridescent gown with a matching necklace, bedazzled earrings, and moody maroon-hued glam in a sweet group photo of the trio. Meanwhile, Rowland wore a classic sleeveless burgundy turtleneck dress paired with a matching mob wife-coded fur coat in the same trendy hue.
Beyoncé went uncharacteristically cool girl casual for the Broadway show, nixing her go-to glam for a gray knit sweater bodysuit and matching gray knit undies. She balanced the fall leg-baring look with a knee-length light gray blazer coat with boxy ‘80s power shoulders and over-the-knee suede boots in the same subtle hue. A gray felt cap worn over her bouncy platinum curls gave the off-duty look an additional street style edge.
The “Single Ladies” star interrupted all the monochromatic gray with two small but statement-making accessories: A slate gray woven leather clutch with gold hardware and a pair of oversized black-rimmed glasses that made the potentially nerdy shape look so chic. Large metallic drop earrings and diamond cocktail rings added some shine, while Bey finished up her look with a subtle black cat eye and matte nude lips.
