Businesswear, but make it glamorous.
Angelina Jolie has basically solidified herself as the queen of the all-black ensemble. Her tried-and-true outfit formula—which is usually composed of an inky-black wool maxi coat and matching trousers—might as well be patented. Plus, she is quite partial to luxurious black gowns when she appears on the red carpet. While the dark shade has long been her go-to, she still manages to make it look so new, which is exactly what she did today at the 68th BFI London Film Festival. Not only did she give the monochromatic look a fun twist, but she also embraced fall with the perfect autumn footwear.
The Atelier Jolie founder waltzed across the red carpet in a glamorous black suit, which consisted of an oversize vest that she left undone at the bottom, a large blazer with shiny satin lapels, and long trousers that bunched up on her leg. She accented her glamorous take on businesswear with the ultimate fall shoes: black leather booties with a square toe and large block heel.
As for glam, the Maleficent star wore smoky makeup, complete with a dark cat eye, defined eyebrows, and a glossy-peach lip color. She styled her blonde-highlighted locks down and straight with a side part.
Jolie was in attendance to promote her new movie Maria, a musical drama in which she plays famed opera singer Maria Callas. The film follows Callas's glamorous yet tumultuous life in the public eye in the '70s.
The actress's appearance comes on the heels of an outing in New York City, where she was captured leaving her clothing boutique in NoHo. For the occasion, she reached for all-black again, donning a long shaggy coat, satin pants, a low-cut blouse, stilettos, and big shades.
