She recreated one of the "Believe" singer's most iconic looks.
Zendaya is recreating one of Cher’s most iconic looks. As the legendary musician was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 19, the Euphoria actress undertook her latest method dressing challenge, paying homage to the star in a sheer naked dress that looked almost exactly like the stomach-baring Bob Mackie dress that Cher wore to perform “I’m a Woman” with actress Raquel Welch in 1975.
With the help of longtime stylist Law Roach, Zendaya channeled the music siren in another Bob Mackie creation – a vintage nude dress from the designer’s fall 2001 Foreign Intrigue couture collection that was hand-beaded with diamonds, gold, and aurora borealis stones, per Roach’s Instagram Stories. The barely-there gown featured a cleavage-baring criss-cross design in front that was attached to strings that crossed over her toned abs and put her taut midriff and hips on full display. The attached sheer skirt, which was made out of a matching iridescent sheer fabric that was interwoven with gold and silver, featured a sky-high slit in front that flaunted Zendaya’s legs and was accentuated by a set of tassels. The Challengers actress’s pointy-toed metallic gold heels added extra shine to the head-turning look.
As Zendaya posed on the red carpet alongside Cher and Dua Lipa at the Cleveland, Ohio ceremony, she added a white Bob Mackie silk trench coat with gold embroidery and decorative diamond bugle beads and stones that she styled off her shoulders.
Zendaya subtly channeled Cher’s signature beauty look by swapping out her golden highlights for a dark monochromatic color scheme and styling her hair in a sleek and straight middle-parted style. She leaned into the ‘70s beauty memo, accentuating her features with a peachy hue on her lips, cheeks, and eyes and a swipe of black eyeliner.
