Hollywood's brightest stars paid tribute to their industry.
Last night, Hollywood newcomers and heavy hitters were dressed to the nines on the red carpet at the Fourth Annual Academy Museum Gala. The annual charity gala gathers industry juggernauts to fund the museum's exhibits devoted to the arts, sciences, and artists of moviemaking and other educational programs.
Along with fundraising, the stylish soiree, sponsored by Rolex, brought together the likes of Cynthia Erivo, Kim Kardashian, Demi Moore, Selena Gomez, and more to celebrate cinema icons Rita Moreno and Quentin Tarantino, as well as Hollywood’s hottest leading man of the moment: Gladiator II star Paul Mescal. While the evening celebrated the art of cinema, there were plenty of fabulous fashions to keep us entertained.
Ahead are the best looks from the 2024 Academy Museum Gala.
Selena Gomez in Alaïa
Gomez may be getting Oscar buzz for her film Emilia Perez, but her red-carpet looks should also win all the awards because the actress has never looked more ravishing. She radiated star power in a custom Alaïa velvet halterneck dress with a leather bustier peeking out.
Cynthia Erivo in Louis Vuitton
Wicked star Cynthia Erivo wore a custom Louis Vuitton tulip-shaped dress splattered with glassy beads. The dress's emerald green hue would undoubtedly get the stamp of approval from her on-screen character, Elphbaba.
Ariana Grande in vintage Balmain
Grande ditched her Wicked pink-hued outfits in favor of a white-and-black polka dot Balmain dress. The vintage number, with its bowed bodice and full ball skirt, was oh-so-demure and ladylike.
Colman Domingo in Valentino
Domingo looked impossibly dapper in a black evening jacket and fuschia trousers from Alessandro Michele's debut Valentino collection. A tied sash and bowtie loafers gave the formal look a fresh twist. A cheeky cat figurine added humor to the star's aesthetic.
Greta Lee in Loewe
Lee looked as light as air in a white feathered Loewe dress covered in a delicate pink-and-black floral print, which heightened the look's overall surrealist appeal.
Demi Moore in Prada
The Substance star was befitted in a custom sleek dress from Prada. Covered in silvery blue sequins, the dress featured structured straps that practically floated above her shoulders, revealing a plunging back neckline.
Kirsten Dunst in Gucci
The Civil War actress donned a Gucci gown in the color of the season—chocolate brown. A low back was a sultry surprise to the otherwise minimal draped design from Sabato de Sarno.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph in Louis Vuitton
Best Supporting Actress winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph wore a champagne pink off-the-shoulder silk dress from Louis Vuitton with a peplum waist that fanned out to a dramatic 3D pleated skirt.
Chrissy Teigen in Andrew Kwon
Tiegen floated down the red carpet in a fairy-like dress by Korean-American couture designer Andrew Kwon. The fitted white satin dress featured appliques at the hip that mimicked the iridescence of dragonfly wings.
Ayo Edebiri in Thom Browne
TV star of the moment, Ayo Edebiri, strutted her stuff in an intricately constructed corset from Thom Browne. The Bear actress juxtaposed her fitted top with an asymmetrical ruffled, tiered skirt and gold strappy heels.
Gabrielle Union-Wade in Elie Saab
Lebanese couturier Elie Saab dressed actress Gabrielle Union-Wade in a black bombshell gown covered in shimmering sequins and subtle purple draping details at the hip.
Eiza Gonzalez in Nina Ricci
3 Body Problem starlet Eiza Gonzalez looked stunning in a sleek silk dress from Nina Ricci worn with dazzling diamonds from David Yurman.
Maya Erskine in Carolina Herrera
Erskine, who plays the Mrs. of Amazon Prime's Mr. & Mrs. Smith, looked pretty in pink in a Carolina Herrera gown from the fashion brand's spring collection. The sleeveless gown was covered head-to-toe in delicate hand-sewn flowers.
Pamela Anderson in The Row
The Last Showgirl actress Pamela Anderson showed up in a super chic and sleek black off-the-shoulder dress from The Row. Going make-up free yet again at another red carpet event goes to show just how fearless Anderson has become.
Natasha Lyonn in Valentino
If there is anyone who can pull off the over-the-top maximalist designs of Alessandro Michele, it's larger-than-life actress Natasha Lyonn. Decked in a silvery embellished dress, the look was given a rock-n-roll meets romance vibe thanks to a pair of black leather moto gloves trimmed with lace.
Kylie Jenner in Mugler
King Kylie left little to the imagination in a nude-illusion look custom-made by Mugler. The outfit's sheer, sequined top was balanced by a long black skirt that featured a thong-like detailing at the hip.
Kim Kardashian in vintage Thierry Mugler
SKIMS founder Kim Kardashian showed off a vintage bone-white corset and brief set from Thierry Mugler. The bodacious look was topped off with a dramatic floor-length robe and brilliant diamonds.
Kaia Gerber in vintage Givenchy
The supermodel unlocked the Givenchy design archive to unearth this Victorian-inspired dress from the house's 1997 fall collection. Made from black chiffon, the empire dress was given a bold touch from jet-black beads in floral motifs and fringes.
Aubrey Plaza in Miu Miu
Sometimes, our favorite looks are the ones that push the envelope instead of just sticking with the sartorial norm. Take Plaza's Miu Miu look, for instance. Sure, a naked gown sprayed with sequins and large satin bows on paper may seem like a lot, but Plaza proves all you need is killer confidence to pull off any outfit.
Kendall Jenner in Schiaparelli
Surrealism and Schiaparelli go hand in hand, as can be seen in this Daniel Roseberry-designed dress that Kendall Jenner wore to tonight’s ceremony. The simple black skirt gave way to a Venom-like bodice that both hugged and revealed Jenner’s torso.
Uma Thurman in Fendi
Thurman looked like pure perfection in this plum-hued Fendi haute couture dress. The actress paired her dress with custom-dyed satin slingback pumps from Manolo Blahnik.
Nicole Kidman in Balenciaga
Kidman oozed old-school Hollywood glamour in a sleeveless black silk satin Balenciaga dress. Opera-length gloves and a gold Omega watch emphasized the actress's killer arms.
Naomi Scott in Carolina Herrera
Scott was the belle of the ball in this bright yellow dress designed by Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrera. The strapless look hugged Scott's torso and gave way to a full bell skirt that hit just above the ankle.
Margaret Qualley in Chanel
Qualley looked like a punk-rock ballerina in this Chanel look from their latest spring collection. The edgy outfit was comprised of a see-through beaded skirt that was worn over a black velvet bodysuit and leather knee-high combat boots
Kerry Washington in Carolina Herrera
Wes Gordon designed one of our favorite looks of the night’s best looks with this black and white frock that Kerry Washington donned. The 1950’s inspired strapless dress featured a rise and fall hemmed skirt and was covered in a reverse black and white floral print.
