She's on a one-shoulder style streak promoting 'Bridget Jones.'
Renée Zellweger is fully embracing her one-shoulder style era during her Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy press circuit. As she prepares to reprise her beloved role for the fourth time, the Judy actress made a case for bringing back asymmetric necklines by stepping out on the red carpet in a vintage-coded houndstooth dress and a sheer black lace naked dress. Her most recent sartorial challenge? Remixing a divisive Y2K top trend into a chic bare-shoulder style moment at the Bridget Jones photocall in Rome on February 4.
As she continued her Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy promo tour of Europe on Tuesday, Zellweger put her own spin on the 2000s-era layered shirts trend by pairing an asymmetric cotton poplin short-sleeved blouse with a long black sleeveless corset-style top over it. She wore the blouse pulled to one side with one shoulder bare, giving it an off-balance look. Meanwhile, her long black sleeveless top–which looked like it was a nod to suitwear with buttons down the front, a mid-thigh grazing length, and prominent side pockets–was cinched at the waist with a half-moon brown leather belt and black satin ribbon.
In a seeming nod to another Y2K trend–the tunic over flared pants–Zellweger paired her long top with barrel-leg black slacks in the same material. A pair of black pointy-toed heels peeped out from underneath the ankle-length pants.
Zellweger has been leaning into long ponytails at recent Bridget Jones red carpets, and she opted for a romantic low style with a black bow, face-framing piecesm and an effortless middle-part at the Rome photocall. Posing alongside co-stars Leo Woodall and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Hugh Grant was not in attendance), as well as director Michael Morris at the Hotel De La Ville, the Jerry Maguire actress went for a fresh-faced beauty look with a glowing complexion, a nude pout, and black eyeliner.
