Play it again, Pam.
Everyone, please thank Pamela Anderson for refusing to hop aboard the (very tired) method dressing trend. Another actor who was starring in a film about a Las Vegas showgirl might have whipped out their biggest feathers and brightest sequins for the press tour—but not her. No, she has refused to wear anything except from her own unfailingly chic style. In fact, her latest red carpet look could not have been less showgirl-coded if it tried—instead of going going full glitz and glam, Anderson went full film noir with a moody black and white look that can only be described as Humphrey Bogart-core.
At a Las Vegas screening of her movie The Last Showgirl at The Beverly Theater, Anderson opted for a white trend coat, which she wore belted around the waist and wrapped up all the way to her neck. She added to the film noir vibes of the look with a pair of black gloves, black heels and black tights. She also appeared to be wearing a black turtleneck under her coat. She swept her hair back in a low, wispy ponytail with side swept bangs and kept her makeup minimal—it has been her signature look since 2023, after all.
This isn’t the first film noir-esque look to grace the red carpet in recent months. In fact, Jennifer Lopez wore a strikingly similar black and white trench coat look while promoting her film, Unstoppable, back in November.
As for Anderson, she has stuck with muted tones and classic silhouettes throughout her press tour for The Last Showgirl. Recent outfits have included an all-white midi skirt and long jacket look, an all-white skirt and button-up look, an all-white pants and button-up look, and an all-black menswear-inspired suit look.
For Anderson, The Last Showgirl has marked a major turning point in her career. For one thing, it gave her the chance to dig into a role that resonated with her own experiences of the entertainment industry. “I was able to bring a lot of my own personal experience, my long life of dealing with beauty and glamour and aging and reassessing life choices. I got to bring my whole life into this role,” Anderson said during a Variety conversation earlier this month.
The film also marked one of her first big acting opportunities in years. As the actor told Entertainment Tonight, she wasn’t actually sure if she’d ever get this kind of opportunity again. “I don’t know if I kept going, I went home to my garden to make pickles and jams,” she said of her career before the film. “I didn’t know I was going to get this opportunity, so when I got it, I grabbed it by the throat, because I am resilient and I needed to know what I was made of, for me.”
