Is Lily Collins officially an honorary French It girl now?
Lily Collins is continuing her streak of outfits that are—well—not Emily Cooper-coded in the slightest. While her Emily in Paris character may be infamously flighty and eternally unpredictable, both in life and in fashion, Collins is proving herself to be the total opposite. Just take her latest, which that is the absolute epitome of chic and sleek.
Stepping out in New York City ahead of an appearance on Good Morning America, Collins wore a deep wine colored croc effect leather set that put a serious spin on the classic skirt suit. The top featured structured shoulders and long sleeves along with a deep plunging twisted v-neck and a bare midriff. The matching knee-length skirt hugged her hips in a ruched design and featured a structural piece on the left side. Collins wore a pair of matching deep maroon heels and kept her jewelry minimal. Her sharp, blunt, bob, that she debuted a couple of months ago at the premiere of her fillm MaXXXine, looked just as sleek and flippy as ever.
During her appearance on Good Morning America, Collins announced that Emily in Paris would be returning for a fifth season. “There will be a season 5!” she said. “We all just found out ourselves so this is brand new for everyone.” The show’s creator, Darren Star, made a separate announcement, sharing the news that the show would continue to explore Emily’s journey in Rome.
Throughout her press tour for season 4 of Emily in Paris, Collins has been committing to an elegant, fashion-forward look that screams French It girl and—quite frankly—good taste. At the premiere of part 1 of the season, she wore a glamorous black sequined gown complete with a structural peplum. For the premiere of part 2, she slipped into a sparkly golden gown and wore a tower of gold bangles on her arm.
While Emily Cooper has not yet managed to master the art of chic French girl style, after filming in Paris for four seasons, it's clear that Collins is a step or two ahead.
