She brought Capitol fashion to the red carpet.
Cate Blanchett is never one to shy away from putting a daring spin on a classic silhouette—consider it her fashion calling card. So, when the actress stepped out for her latest carpeted event, she couldn't resist going for a fit in one of her favorite colors and shapes, while adding a daring detail that recalled the likes of a popular YA movie classic.
Blanchett attended the special event for her new television series, Disclaimer, during the 68th BFI London Film Festival on October 10. For the red carpet, she donned a black two-piece suit that was fitted in the jacket, and loose in the trousers. Blanchett opted to go braless, and the jacket plunged into a sharp V shape that buttoned at the waist.
The star accessorized with a chunky oversized gold necklace that resembled the gleaming Mockingjay pin from the Hunger Games movie franchise. Blanchett kept the rest of her accessories minimal and wore gold ear cuffs on each ear; her relaxed fit trousers hid pointy leather shoes, also in black.
Blanchett loves going for the unexpected—earlier in the month, she attended Louis Vuitton’s Paris Womenswear Spring-Summer 2025 fashion show in a fun take on the basic white t-shirt.
The top features a built in scarf that draped around her frame and hung at her sides. The actresses dialed up the edge by adding shiny black patent leather pants that were adorned with a larger bow at the hip.
