And it's so easy to recreate.
All hail Katie Holmes, fashion's true queen of cozy—yet impeccably stylish—outfits for the cold weather seasons. The Dawson's Creek actress was spotted in New York City on October 10, in yet another relaxed fit, perfect to add to your Pinterest board for inspiration.
The 45-year-old was photographed out and about wearing an outfit consisting of several closet staples. She donned a chunky knit button up cardigan in a deep taupe color, and wore the sweater open and over a relaxed fit white button-up shirt with subtle lapels at the chest. She combined the basics with a pair of wide leg, light blue denim jeans that hit perfectly at her ankles, and finished off the look with pointy black patent leather ballet flats—another fall essential.
For her accessories, she carried an oversized, slouchy woven Dune London bag in chocolate brown, wore a simple silver heart locket, dainty silver studs , and multiple silver rings. Up top, she matched her square sunglasses—a tortoise shell brown—to her bag and kept her face fresh save for some eyeliner rimmed around her upper eyelids to make her blue eyes pop.
The actress's NYC stroll offered a bit of peace before an eventful evening. Later in the day, Holmes attended the opening night of the revival of Our Town on Broadway at The Barrymore Theatre, in which she stars as Mrs. Webb.
For the occasion, Holmes wore a drapey black satin top and skirt with a side slit, which she matched with black stockings and black flats for the red carpet.
