It's giving family Christmas card in the best way.
Royal and Christmas fans alike have been waiting with bated breath for a Wales family sighting at Kate Middleton’s annual “Together at Christmas” carol service. Well, the royal family did not disappoint during Friday’s event, which will air on ITV1 and ITVX on Christmas Eve. After Middleton made her grand entrance decked to the halls in a stunning red upcycled Alexander McQueen coat dress with a Gen Z-approved detail (a giant bow embellishment), her family joined, all coordinating to match the princess.
Middleton’s husband, Prince William, was seen ushering the kids into Westminster Abbey while wearing a suit with a matching long overcoat and a burgundy-and-white polka-dot tie. Charlotte took a style cue from her mom, wearing a dark red coat dress and a textured velvet collar worn over black stockings. Her brothers, Princes George and Louis, also got into the holiday spirit with crimson-colored ties. Perhaps the family’s sweet coordinating looks were a gesture of unity and solidarity with Princess Kate after a difficult year following her cancer diagnosis.
The family also stopped to look at special messages written on red tags and hung on the Kindness Tree. Each royal took one off the tree and carried it with them. Once inside, Middleton, William, and their kids sat in the front row, where they held candles in one hand and programs in the other and sang. They were joined by other royal family members, including Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter Zara Tindall, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Beatrice, and others.
Earlier this week, Middleton penned a letter ahead of the event promoting love and kindness during the holiday season. “Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year,” she wrote in the heartfelt message. “It is a time for celebration and joy, but it also gives us the opportunity to slow down and reflect on the deeper things that connect us all,” she began her message. “It is when we stop and take ourselves away from the pressures of daily life that we find the space to live our lives with an open heart, with love, kindness, and forgiveness—so much of what the Christmas spirit is all about.”
At last year's concert, Middleton rocked winter whites while George and Louis coordinated in navy blue. Charlotte offered a pop of festive color in a deep red dress coat.
