It may be a new year, but Jennifer Lopez is still the same J.Lo.
Case in point? On New Year's Eve, the singer rang in 2025 with a throwback to one of her most iconic hits. Recreating scenes from the music video to her 1998 song "Waiting for Tonight" on Instagram, Lopez wore a shimmery Brat green gown with a low-cut neckline that plunged all the way down to her midriff. In the slow-motion clip, the multi-hyphenate backed into a palm tree at what appeared to be a restuarant and began dancing, wrapping the plant's green leaves around her body and in front of her face while the wind blew dramatically through her hair.
"Waiting For Tonight, 2025," Lopez captioned the post. Naturally, fans were delighted with the Y2K callback, with one writing: "This eternal serve 👏🏼 💚." Another added, “Iconic recreation💚."
Earlier this week, Lopez—who spent the holidays with her family in Aspen, Colorado—shared a 2024 recap video that included personal and professional clips from the past year. And while she notably left out any mention of her ex-husband Ben Affleck, she seemingly alluded to their split and its effect on her in several voice-over moments taken from various interviews. “In my low moments I’ve learned to just feel the feelings and then let them go,” J.Lo said in the video, adding: “I can sit here with my heart and soul intact and still feel really full of love.”
In a message of hope for the year to come, she said in another clip, "What a journey this has been. I honestly feel that the best is yet to come," and, in a third, "It's going to get better and it always does. It's a beautiful life in that way."
