The crowening is upon us.
Catherine O’Hara went full crowening with her latest red carpet look at the 2024 Venice Film Festival. On Wednesday, the actress attended the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice premiere in a look that channeled her Schitt’s Creek character, Moira Rose, and one of her most iconic moments.
O’Hara posed on the red carpet in a see-through black netted dress—custom made by Oscar de la Renta—with an off-the-shoulder neckline featuring sculptural detailing that resembled frayed wires, flower appliqués, three-quarter-length sleeves, and a slit along the back of the skirt. She accessorized the Moira-coded number with a black clutch, Cartier jewelry, and coordinating chunky platforms.
Her blonde hair was styled in a sleek, middle-parted bob, and her glam included fringed lashes, rosy cheeks, and a red lip.
Fans of the Emmy-winning show will remember O'Hara's character: a former actress with an expansive collection of wigs and a flair for the dramatic. During the show's later seasons, Moira reprises one of her famous roles in the fictional film, The Crows Have Eyes 3: The Crowening, in which Moira's character becomes a crow. Moira's daughter, Alexis, even throws a red carpet screening for the film in their small town.
O'Hara played Delia Deetz in the original Beetlejuice in 1988 and is reviving the character for the sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which hits theaters on September 6.
Earlier in the week, O'Hara paid homage to the titular character, played by Michael Keaton in both the original and sequel, in a black-and-white striped trouser and button-up Petar Petrov set.
