No need to say her name three times to see this spooky-sexy outfit.
Over the weekend, Jenna Ortega was out in New York City promoting her upcoming movie, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and following on the pink heels of Margot Robbie and Zendaya’s crisp tennis whites, she’s keeping the celebrity trend of main character dressing alive, even though her movie is about the undead—call it poetic. Ortega paired a Vivienne Westwood suit with a sheer corset underneath and very on-theme striped stockings, making for a goth-meets-glam look that’ll have fans of Tim Burton’s signature aesthetic very, very pleased.
As she preps to promote the sequel to Burton's 1988 cult-favorite horror-comedy, Ortega's been wearing plenty of all-black looks. The Westwood suit brought together a boxy, cropped jacket and a miniskirt, which she paired with a pair of Westwood signature platform booties and tiny, angular sunglasses. The jacket's short crop showed off glimpses of a sheer corset underneath and she added Taylor Swift-approved beaded bracelets and a statement ring to finish off the cinematic look. She wore her signature dark hair up with her wispy bangs split in the middle and added a rosy-peach matte lip color to contrast with the monochrome blacks and grays of her outfit.
Over the weekend, Ortega joined her co-stars Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, and Monica Bellucci for an event in Mexico City. For that event, the women wore on-theme black outfits, with Ortega’s suit channeling Michael Keaton’s Beetlejuice character’s striped costume. Her co-stars wore suits and tailoring that paid homage to the original film’s dark, spooky vibes, complete with witchy skirts and a mosaic snakeskin outfit.
According to WWD, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will chronicle Lydia Deetz (reprised by Ryder) as she reanimates Keaton’s Beetlejuice to rescue her daughter, Astrid (Ortega), after she manages to open a portal to the afterlife.
The move is set to hit theaters on September 6.
