This was basically my going-out uniform in college.
By day, the 2010s was known as the decade of leggings (likely teamed with a pair of comfy boots or sneakers), but come nighttime, it was all about wearing tights with heels. And Natalie Portman, for one, is campaigning for this quirky combination’s comeback.
On Monday, Portman attended Stella McCartney's spring-summer 2025 runway show during Paris Fashion Week, and for the occasion, she revived the ubiquitous going-out uniform of the 2010s. And while Portman's version was much more polished than what was worn when I was in college, it still followed the same formula of a minidress paired with stockings and pumps. Sitting the front row, the actress sported a strapless LBD—which featured a sculptural sweetheart neckline and a ruched bodice—with semi-sheer black tights and matching glossy black heels.
She accessorized minimally, adding only a black leather square-shaped handbag to her look that highlighted her red-lacquered nails. Portman wore her brunette hair down and straight with a sweeping side part and finished off her glam with a glossy pink lip and rosy cheeks.
Earlier this week, the Oscar-winner made another front row appearance at Dior in a selection from the fashion brand's cruise 2025 collection that coincidentally embraced another trend from the 2010s. Wearing a flared miniskirt with chainmail-like embellishments and a black corseted jacket, Portman completed her outfit with a pair of chunky black knee-high boots with silver buckles.
