And it’s bound to sell out.
This is the story of a shoe that launched and won over the whole world. Okay, well, it at least won me over in an instant. Its creation is a beautiful story that fuses romance and fashion with out-of-this-world comfort—and that, dear readers, is enough to pique my interest. I’m confident it will win you over, too; in fact, it might just be love at first sight.
The shoe that’s made my heart skip a beat? Larroudé’s latest (and perhaps greatest) launch to date: a Mary Jane ballet flat named the Verona that the brand calls its comfiest creation to date. And while I haven’t yet tried it, I’m a big fan of Larroudé’s footwear, which also counts Jennifer Garner, Demi Moore, Brie Larson, Nina Dobrev, Vanessa Hudgens, and more as fans, and I trust that it’ll live up to those claims.

If the name itself isn’t reason enough to slip into this ultra-cute Mary Jane (Verona, named after the city of Romeo and Juliet!), let me break down the winning details that make it a must-buy, from the most obvious first. The silhouette is beautiful, taking cue from the trending Mary Jane styles you know and love, with a front-strap that features the most adorable heart-shaped buckle (again, love!) and an enduring round-toe front that ups the comfort. We know that, oftentimes, a pointed-toe can squeeze the foot, so the choice to create the Verona with a rounded-front was smart and sensible. Of course, the ultra-smooth leather that hugs your foot can’t be missed, either.
Now comes the inside; flats are notoriously, well, flat, but the Verona ensures you have all the support you need thanks to an insole designed with memory foam cushioning (ahh, the cushiness), as well as a leather sole that’s supportive, durable, and comfortable. Sounds like a winning shoe to me, right? Right.
The Verona is available in five stunning colors, including a cherry red, seaweed green, taupe-y peanut, brown, and black, and in size 5 to 11, with half sizes also available. The Mary Jane costs $318, but for a luxe shoe that’s comfy and built to last, I think that’s money well spent.
It’s only a matter of time until my favorite celebs wear this Mary Jane, given the shoe style’s popularity and the brand’s chokehold on Hollywood. Once I get my hands on a pair, I plan on wearing them with cute socks to make them suitable for fall.
