Sabrina Carpenter is working late, nay, overtime to inject her signature humor into every song. So it’s no surprise that the queen of innuendo has sexy custom lingerie to wear every night of her Short n’ Sweet Tour.
On Monday night, the singer performed to a sold-out crowd at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. InStyle got a first-hand glimpse at her ’50s-inspired tour looks—which, by the way, change every night—from the Marriott Bonvoy suite. The 5-foot-tall singer opened the concert with her new smash song “Taste” while wearing a baby-blue bustier, boy-short bodysuit from Victoria’s Secret that took more than 140 hours to hand bedazzle with 150,000 crystals, according to the brand. The night before, Carpenter took to the stage at Madison Square Garden in the same look, but in a pale yellow color, and she sported a pink version during her Columbus, Ohio, show last week.
She paired the piece with shimmery sheer tights (adorned with little red kiss-prints) and matching lace garters. Later, she added a coordinating mesh negligee on top that twirled as she danced around the stage.
Over the course of the evening, Carpenter slipped into a black lace capri catsuit channeling Grease's Sandy, as well as a sparkly fringe gown that transformed into a minidress, which she paired with monster platform boots with heart cutouts. Her long blonde hair was styled in voluminous and bouncy curls and her signature curtain bangs.
During the show, Carpenter surprised fans by singing her bonus track, "Busy Woman," and spoke about her short-lived stint in Brooklyn. The pop star revealed that she previously resided in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and was an avid fan of BK staple Martha's Country Bakery (IYKYK).
"Guys, I had a Brooklyn moment. I lived in Williamsburg for a bit, so I was at Martha's all the time," she said before adding, "I love sweets, obviously."
After selling out both Barclays Center and Madison Square Garden, the singer shared an emotional statement on her Instagram alongside a carousel of concert images.
"Nights i won’t forget as long as i live!!! Nights I’ve dreamt of since i was soooo little!!" she gushed. "Thank you to each and every one of you for showing up and singing as loud as you did I am a ball of mush i love you New York."
