"Wear pink she said!"
Meghan Markle has become known for her chic closet filled with neutral tones of beiges, creams, whites, and blacks. But, when it comes to a theme, the Duchess of Sussex isn’t afraid to bust out a pastel color every now and again. Most recently, she aptly wore blush pink dress to her friend’s baby shower.
The Duchess of Sussex attended a shower for her friend, Samantha Stone, the Chief Membership Officer at Soho House. In a photo shared on Instagram by another guest, Kelly McKee Zajfen, Markle could be seen following the party’s pink theme in the chicest way possible.
Markle opted for the baby pink Alice midi dress by Aussie designer Posse. The ultra simple linen dress featured a modern square neckline, wide straps, and a straight silhouette. She went sans necklace and accessorized with a simple gold cuff bracelet. She wore her hair down in a middle part.
Markle was pictured laughing as she posed with her friends, who also wore pink. As Zajfen wrote in the caption of her post, "I love 💕 a theme. Wear Pink she said!"
Markle’s on-theme pink look is only the latest in a long line of understated outfits from the Duchess. Just last week, Markle appeared at the 2024 Paley Honors Fall Gala wearing a slinky LBD that trailed to the floor. She opted to keep her jewelry simple at that event, too, wearing nothing but a glamorous tennis necklace. Last month, she wore another ultra simple look, donning a black corset top with a pair of matching tailored trousers, while attending the launch of colorist Kadi Lee’s new haircare line. Even though this latest event had a very specific (and very pink) dress code, Markle managed to put her own sleek, simple spin on it.
Stone’s baby shower is only the latest event that Markle has attended without her husband, Prince Harry. The couple have recently taken a more separate approach to business as they both forge their own distinct career paths. Markle, for instance, recently attended an Archewell Thanksgiving dinner in partnership with Mina’s List, while Harry contributed to an event in honor of the Diana Award.
“It’s clear that a twin-track approach is evolving,” a friend of the couple recently told People. Another added, “The Duke and Duchess have now hit their stride as individuals—not just as a couple. The Duke appears focused on his patronage work, and the Duchess focused on her entrepreneurial track.”
The pair did, however, recently reunite in a touching behind-the-scenes video that celebrated their shared work for the Archewell Foundation this year.
