She convinced me to bring them into fall.
Loose linen cargo pants were the style I reached for over and over again this summer. As someone who hates shorts but also refuses to wear jeans when it’s above 80-degrees, they were a lifesaver, offering lightweight comfort with a full-length leg. And while there was a moment where I considered packing them up to make room for fall denim, Martha Stewart just convinced me not to.
Stewart, who has mastered practical-but-elevated dressing, wore loose, drawstring cargo pants—a go-to for Oprah and Taylor Swift—in a faded khaki color with a matching peasant top that hit just above her wrists. Immediately, I knew this outfit—both chic and comfortable—was the only thing I’ll be wearing through fall.
While I plan to keep wearing the wide-leg cargos I already own, I’m also looking to grab one to two more styles in autumn shades. And at Amazon, I found that my favorite anti-jean pants start at just $14.

Beautiful Nomad Linen-Blend Wide-Leg Cargo Pants
Orig. $34 $32 at Amazon
Beautiful Nomad’s pants are an easy way to get Stewart’s look for less. These have that same spacious wide leg and drawstring waistband—two details that make them incredibly wearable. The comfort doesn’t stop there though; the cargos are also made with a lightweight linen blend that shoppers say is “breathable” and “soft.” Basically, if you want to feel like you’re wearing pajamas but not look like it, these are the pants for you.
Hudson Wide-Leg Cargo Pants
Orig. $245 $77 at Amazon
While a bit more of a splurge, I’m really loving Hudson’s cargo pants. While Beautiful Nomad’s leaned more coastal chic, the oversized pockets (of which there are many!) and contrast stitching give these a cooler feel—it also makes them beyond easy to style. Because they’re a little busy, all you need is a simple T-shirt and sneakers to complete this outfit.
Czyinxian Wide-Leg Cargo Pants
Orig. $29 $14 at Amazon
Czyinxian’s take on the wide-leg cargo is a little more dressed-up. This style ditches the drawstring in favor of a zipper and button for a more trouser-like look. Shoppers say that despite their elevated appearance, these are still comfortable, with one person saying that they’re “dressy enough for work” without feeling like stiff slacks.
Wide-leg cargos are the comfortable pants I’ll be reaching all fall long (sorry jeans). Shop more of the style Stewart and I both reach for below.
