She's the latest star to master theme dressing.
Fashion fans and Francophiles, unite, because a new season of Emily in Paris is here and Lily Collins wore an appropriately Emily outfit as she celebrated the arrival of new adventures for everyone’s favorite fish out of water. Last night, where the cast celebrated season 4’s arrival with a red carpet in Los Angeles, Collins gave French girl with her sleek, chin-length bob and black strapless gown.
The all-sequin dress featured a structured bodice, flouncy peplum detail, and a sheer skirt with beads creating a subtle checkered pattern. Silver Art Deco-style drop earrings and a diamond ring, as well as her engagement bling, accessorized the look. Black patent-leather, pointed-toe Manolo Blahnik pumps finished the elegant ensemble, and the star styled her sleek bob in a middle part with one side tucked behind her ear.
Collins was joined on the carpet by her cast mates, including Ashley Park, who wore a dramatic silver gown with a sculptural shoulder detail. The real-life besties posed together on the pink carpet while holding hands.
Emily in Paris is streaming now, with five episodes dropping today and another batch of five coming to Netflix on September 12.
Back in 2022, when the last season dropped, Collins arrived on the red carpet with a fresh set of bangs, which coincided with Emily's look at the opening of season 3. The love-it-or-hate-it Netflix series was postponed thanks to the writer's strikes of 2023, which pushed the new season to this year and, for the first time, had the show's characters experience a Parisian winter.
Speaking about the show’s third season, costume designer Marylin Fitoussi explained to People that she had “even greater freedom” to play with the characters’ clothes.
"We always have to present new things, to push the limits of what we can do," she said when season 3 arrived.
While fans will have to tune in to see if Emily has another hair transformation this time around, Collins has a fresh chop IRL. Recently, she's been wearing her hair in a short bob, which is so short and sharp that it barely reaches her jawline.
“New hair era unlocked,” she wrote on Instagram last month right before she stepped out on the red carpet for MaXXXine. While she did tag her hairstylist Gregory Russell, she also revealed that she had a hand in the new ‘do. In a clip, she showed herself leaning into a bit of DIY and making some cuts into her signature brunette hair.
