A corset, but make it armor.
Kate Beckinsale has arrived at London Fashion Week—and she made a bold, structural fashion statement.
The actress appeared at the Harris Reed Spring-Summer 2025 Show at London’s Tate Modern. Hopping aboard the corset trend, Beckinsale opted for a silver, armor-like cropped corset top with a push-up effect. The corset swooped into a sharp point in the middle of her chest and the middle of her pelvis, giving a strong, almost medieval look to the top. She paired this fierce piece with a slinky black maxiskirt, which hugged her calves and pooled around her feet. She swept her hair back in a parted updo and finished off the look with a pair of long, dangly gold earrings.
Beckinsale’s appearance at London Fashion Week comes after a difficult year. The actress spent six weeks in the hospital dealing with a number of health issues. She later opened up about the cause of her hospitalization.
"I watched my stepfather die quite shockingly, my mother has stage 4 cancer," she wrote in an Instagram comment. "And I lost a lot of weight from stress and grief, quite quickly."
She went on: "And then I was in hospital for six weeks because the grief had burned a hole in my oesophagus [sic] which made me vomit copious amounts of blood, and I found eating very hard and I just worked very very hard on a movie that was actually quite triggering, because it also involved the theme of the death of my father."
Since her illness, Beckinsale has made her return to public life, appearing on the red carpet for the King’s Trust Gala in New York City in May, where she wore an asymmetrical white organza gown along with an oversized black hair bow. Beckinsale’s hair bow has since become a common feature of her Instagram posts. Evidently, she thought it best to skip the bow for this latest fierce look.
