Both on and off the runway.
Given that Kendall Jenner has spent practically her entire life in the spotlight, it should come as no surprise that she has mastered the art of personal style—both on and off the runway. While the model made waves most recently for some iconic beauty moments—see going blonde or trying out a Kris Jenner-style pixie—her fashion sense has stayed consistently on point.
The most fun aspect of Jenner’s style is arguably her penchant for vintage. She’s been known to pull iconic archival looks for both the red carpet and street style moments, harkening back to looks from the 1960s onward. Referencing the likes of Caroline Bessette-Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, and Audrey Hepburn, she brings a contemporary point-of-view to history-making fashion, whether from 1964 or 2024. Ahead, find 18 of Kendall Jenner’s most iconic style moments so far.
Vintage Power Suit
Jenner stepped out for Paris Fashion Week in a perfect power suit courtesy of John Galliano circa 1999. The archival look featured a bustier-style blazer, a draped skirt, and, on a practical note, a matching navy umbrella.
Elegant LBD
Jenner seemingly took inspiration from the midcentury elegance of movie stars like Audrey Hepburn for a second street style look in Paris, donning a chic LBD for The Row's presentation before heading to a fitting at Schiaparelli.
Runway Red
Jenner’s semi-sheer red gown turned heads at the Le Défilé L’Oréal runway show in Paris, where the model was joined by the likes of Cara Delevingne, Andie MacDowell, Eva Longoria, Jane Fonda, Viola Davis, Alia Bhatt, and Simone Ashley. The asymmetric dress featured gloved sleeves, a sheer corset, built-in tights, and an attached bra.
Brown Bottega
Jenner got a head start on autumnal dressing with a rich chocolate brown turtleneck dress at Bottega Veneta’s ready-to-wear presentation on September 21, just one day shy of the official start of fall.
Team USA
Returning to Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics, Jenner supported Team USA in stylish fashion, with an Olympics-themed bomber jacket and matching baseball cap from Ralph Lauren. The jacket, named the Flagbearer Jacket, and the hat, a.k.a. the Closing Ceremony Cap, were both worn by Team USA Olympians at the closing ceremony.
Angelic Mini Dress
Jenner wore not one, but two, mini white dresses to the 2024 Met Gala after-party. The first look, a 1997 spring/summer dress from the Givenchy archive, featured a corset top that spread across the model’s collar bone like two angel wings, designed by the late Alexander McQueen. Writing on her Instagram stories, Jenner said, “Am I dreaming or am I wearing this dress?”
White Lace
Jenner’s second after-party look for the 2024 Met Gala was another white mini, this time designed by Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood. She carried a bottle of 818 tequila along with a mini white purse to complete the lace-y look.
Archival Givenchy
Jenner began her night at the 2024 Met Gala with a bombshell, never-before-seen look from the Givenchy archive. The gown, designed by Alexander McQueen in 1999, fit like a glove: “I couldn’t do any tailoring, I couldn’t do anything,” Jenner said. “It was meant to be.”
Sheer Elegance
Wearing one of many iconic looks from the Maison Margiela spring-summer 2024 couture collection, Jenner stunned in a sheer floor-length gown at the Vanity Fair Oscars party. The dress featured dozens of round cutouts and a floral pattern up top.
Fendi Couture
Jenner wrapped up 2023 with one last show-stopping look: a semi-sheer Fendi Couture gown in a brilliant shade of red. The model donned the outfit for the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, which she attended alongside longtime friend Hailey Bieber.
'90s Inspired
Jenner put a vintage spin on the sheer dress trend with a micro mini look for the 2023 Met Gala after-party. The dress was layered under a black thong and was a recreation, designed by Nensi Dojaka, of a 1994 Chanel runway look. Dojaka contextualized the ensemble on Instagram: “Our tribute recreation of one of Karl’s iconic looks.”
Bedazzled Body Suit
Jenner towered over her fellow attendees at the 2023 Met Gala in a pair of sky-high bedazzled boots and a matching body suit courtesy of Marc Jacobs. The look featured two long, shimmery trains from each sleeve, and a whole lot of Swarovski crystals.
Early Aughts Mermaid
Tapping Jean Paul Gaultier once again, Jenner opted for a shimmering bronze mermaid gown from his 2008 spring-summer couture collection for the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars party.
Rugged Western
Keeping it casual while out and about in New York City, Jenner wore a shearling zippered jacket with rugged suede-patched denim that evoked the last frontier of the American imaginary: the Wild West.
Sheer Miu Miu
Going sheer once again for the 2022 Met Gala after-party, Jenner selected a black lace set to layer over her matching lingerie, all of which was designed by Miu Miu.
Extra Volume
Jenner brought mega volume to the 2022 Met Gala courtesy of Prada. She balanced out the massive ballroom skirt with a sheer mesh top and topped off the entire look with an unexpected accessory: bleached eyebrows.
Big Balenciaga
Opting for Balenciaga alongside her sister Kim Kardashian, Jenner brought the volume to the 2022 Vanity Fair Oscars party in a strapless black ballgown courtesy of the Paris-based label. She completed the look with matching black sunnies and a slicked-back ponytail.
Bejeweled Naked Dress
Jenner's heavily bejeweled gown at the 2021 Met Gala was designed by Givenchy Haute Couture and served as an ode to Audrey Hepburn's Givenchy look in the film My Fair Lady. Hepburn's look, of course, was slightly less sheer than Jenner's, given it was worn in 1964.
