Demi Moore has always loved a good menswear fashion moment. At the 1991 Golden Globe Awards, the actress went against the grain, ditching her gown for a black and white suited look that matched her then-husband Bruce Willis’s tux. A year later, she wore another suit-inspired outfit on the red carpet that consisted of a pinstriped jacket and a bowler hat, and after that, a double-breasted blazer dress with tights.
Fast-forward three decades later, and Moore is still a master at menswear. On Thursday, she attended the premiere of her new film The Substance at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival, wearing an updated take on the three-piece suit. Combining a white button-down shirt with a black tie on top, Moore added a feminine touch with her high-waisted black satin skirt that featured a slit in the back and a sparkly diamond brooch pinned to her hip.
She accessorized with a pair of linear drop earrings, black pointed-toe pumps, and a smattering of rings. Moore wore her jet-black hair sleek and straight with a middle part, and she rounded out her glam with peach-colored lips and smoky eye makeup.
Earlier this week, Moore spoke about her upcoming horror flick, which is about a new miracle drug that allows people to birth a younger, prettier versions of themselves. And much like the film, things went awry in real-life too. “To give you an idea of the intensity, my first week that I actually had off, where it was just Margaret [Qualley] working, I got shingles,” Moore told The Los Angeles Times in a new interview, adding: “And I then lost, like, 20 pounds.”
Qualley, who plays the "perfect" version of Moore's Elisabeth Sparkle in the film, interjected: "Oh, yeah. I had crazy acne for a full, long-ass time."
Moore continued, "You have to walk away feeling that you put it all on the table. It called for it and it’s what you want to bring to it.”
