She came to slay.
Beyoncé officially endorsed Kamala Harris in her hometown of Houston, Texas on Friday, and took a page out of the Democratic presidential candidate’s fashion playbook while delivering her own spin on statement suiting.
At Harris's "Reproductive Freedom" campaign rally, the singer took the stage in her version of the power suit, which included a black double-breasted blazer dress layered over a matching miniskirt from Rose Huntington-Whiteley's collaboration with Wardrobe.NYC. Her jacket featured sharp padded shoulders and a cinched waist, creating an hourglass silhouette. Letting the suit speak for itself, Beyoncé accessorized minimally, adding just a pair of nude stockings and black ankle-strap heels.
Her blonde hair was styled in voluminous curls with a sweeping side part, and she finished off her glam with glossy lips and a subtle smoky eye.
During the event, Beyoncé was joined by her former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, who also suited up for the political appearance. For her part, Rowland wore a gray pinstriped pantsuit with a boxy, oversized silhouette and paired it with a white dress shirt and red tie.
“H-Town. We are so happy to be standing here on this stage as proud Texan women supporting and celebrating the one and only Vice President Kamala Harris. A woman who has been pushing for what this country really needs right now,” Beyoncé said while standing next to Rowland, who added: “Houston, you’ve already had a hand in creating destiny, so do what you do and do this thing again.”
