I’ve run errands, dined, and even slept in them.
The thing about an unbearably hot summer is that you get used to wearing nothing but comfortable, breathable pants. So after spending the last several months cycling between workout shorts, flowy skirts, and lightweight linens, I’ve been having a hard time finding my denim groove. Even the jeans I once swore by now feel rigid and restrictive.
I could suck it up (and down the road probably will), but for now, I’m sticking to comfy styles: Think super roomy trousers, silky skirts, and flowy, stretchy pants. And as of right now, I’ve been non-stop wearing the latter.

Girlfriend Collective, a brand with leggings so good that even Oprah swears by them, recently launched an elevated loungewear collection, and I’m not sure I’ve ever added something to cart so quickly. The collection includes everything from off-the-shoulder and cowl-neck tops to a skirt-pant hybrid, but it was the black JerseyLounge Straight Leg Pants—which are available in sizes XXS-6XL—that I immediately fell in love with. Their relaxed, straight silhouette seemed to create the perfect drape on every model. And after testing them, I can confirm they do IRL, too.

IMO, these pants have the perfect fit. The high-waisted style fits snuggly through the waist and butt, skimming the thighs, and then hangs loosely at the calf. It creates this billowing-effect that elevates what are essentially black leggings; they look remarkably polished but don’t necessarily feel like you’re wearing anything at all. It helps that the jersey material is not too compressive and buttery soft—like, so soft that if these were in a competition with my pajama pants, I would pick these.

I just got these on Saturday, but I’ve already worn them almost daily. While I keep gravitating toward them because they’re silky soft (I literally napped in them yesterday), I also love how easily they can dress up. My favorite way to wear them is with a pair of patent leather loafers and bright red cardigan—it’s chic but cozy—but I also tried them with a pair of strappy heels and an off-the-shoulder black top and couldn’t believe how sexy the whole thing looked. With the right top and shoes, the lounge pants transform into a pair of perfectly-draped slacks.
I’m so in love with my black pair that I will be grabbing the baby blue pair as well, but I’m also now convinced that I need the cowl-neck top, which can also be worn off the shoulder, as well as this side-ruched tank top. Shop more of the JerseyLounge styles below.
