19 Sep 2024 — US-based company Traditional Medicinals debuts a new line of Stress Ease Teas — Focus, Immune and Tension Relief — that harness the power of adaptogens, herbs and nervines, medicinal herbs that help respond to occasional stress and support the nervous system. The company developed these organic herbal teas to address the increasing demand for solutions to rising stress levels.
A recent survey of 2,000 US adults commissioned by Traditional Medicinals reveals that 41% of respondents say they are currently at their “peak stress” levels for the year. Moreover, the survey by Talker Research finds that 71% of participants agree that “their overall outlook would be better if they were able to reduce their stress.”
“We live in a time when responsibilities, worries and other life events can leave us feeling tense, overwhelmed, lacking focus and drained of energy,” comments Taryn Forrelli, chief science officer at Traditional Medicinals.
“Plants have always supported us in managing stress, and with tea, we can share nature’s medicine with more people in a way that is both convenient and sustainable. By harnessing the power of adaptogens and other high-quality herbs, our Stress Ease line of herbalist-formulated teas helps people build resilience and boost vitality so they can thrive in the face of challenges.”
“One cup at a time”
The company notes that the new teas offer a natural and effective solution “for those seeking balance and resilience” in a fast-paced world.
In addition to growing stress levels, US adults reported in the Traditional Medicinals’ commissioned survey that they experience stress headaches three times a week and have brain fog just as often. Also, half of the respondents believe that stress is often the main cause of them falling ill, while 45% have never taken a mental health or sick day from work solely because of stress.
Meanwhile, 47% of participants note that they seek simple self-care strategies that fit into their busy schedules, such as music, entertainment, snacking and tea consumption.

In contrast, nearly half of the survey participants were confident in traditional methods, such as yoga, meditation or a calming tea.
“In today’s world, US citizens are grappling with unprecedented stress levels from various sources — financial pressures, health concerns, political uncertainty and more. This makes simple stress management not just desirable but essential,” highlights Kristel Corson, chief marketing officer at Traditional Medicinals.
“Whether it’s enhancing mental focus, supporting immune function or easing physical tension in the neck, shoulders and body, our Stress Ease line empowers individuals to take control of their well-being, one cup at a time, so they are ready for anything.”
Stress Ease Teas
The new range includes three different teas with a specific target area. Focus tea is a bright, minty blend of wild apple and adaptogens like ginseng and eleuthero for mental clarity and sustained energy. The tea supports daily balanced energy, focus and stress management with “evident effects from the first cup and consistent results with ongoing daily use,” the company details.
The company highlights that Stress Ease Immune tea helps support the immune system, reduces stress and offers reliable benefits with regular consumption. It is a blend with adaptogens such as astragalus and reishi mushrooms to balance the immune response and manage occasional stress.
The third product, Tension Relief tea, is a herbal, minty-citrus blend featuring herbs like skullcap to support the nervous system. The tea is designed for “quick comfort and relief of stress, tension and irritability.”
Nearly half of the survey respondents believed in traditional methods to address stress, such as yoga or meditation.Sustainable sourcing
All three new teas are organic certified and adhere to Traditional Medicinals’ rigorous B Corporation standards. These standards ensure accountability, verification and transparency of the company’s ethical practices, fair relationships with farmers and collectors and environmental stewardship.
Moreover, Stress Ease Focus supports the company’s dedication to ethical sourcing, supporting wild collectors and the planet’s biodiversity by including FairWild-certified ingredients. This certification standard includes ecological, socio-cultural and business requirements for sustainable wild collection.
Last year, Nutrition Insight met with Traditional Medicinals’ sustainability impact manager to discuss ensuring a sustainable supply of botanicals. Taylor Clayton highlighted how the company uses a sustainability toolkit developed by the Sustainable Herbs Program.
