Her high-low outfit is a departure from her "very demure" tour style.
After four action-packed days in Colombia, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s informal royal tour is coming to a close. In between all the dancing, sweet PDA moments, and drum lessons, the Suits alum stepped out in a parade of Colombia tour outfits that seemed to fit into the “very demure, very mindful” TikTok trend. However, Markle officially broke her minimalist style streak on her final day in Colombia, donning a psychedelic sequin skirt as the couple made an appearance at the Municipal Theatre Enrique Buenaventura in Cali .
Markle has been prioritizing diplomatic dressing throughout her tour of the Latin American country, and Sunday was no different, as she chose a piece from Colombian designer Silvia Tcherassi. The duchess, who was tapped to participate in the Afro-Descendant Women and Power: Voice of Equity panel on August 18, stepped out of her sartorial comfort zone with the sparkly piece that could only be described as groovy.
The shiny midi-length skirt, which retails for $1,390 on Saks’s website, featured intricate swirls of sequins designed to look like flowers in muted hues of purple, green, orange, and brown. The Duchess of Sussex showed off her skill for high-low dressing by pairing the skirt with a preppy white sleeveless button-up shirt from Mango, red pointy-toed pumps, and a pair of gold fan earrings, which were reportedly a gift from the Colombian vice president.
Markle, who could be seen smiling and laughing with Prince Harry in the audience before she spoke at the panel, swapped out the side-parted ponytail she’s been wearing throughout the tour for a messy bun. The effortless updo featured a topknot and face-framing pieces, putting the focus on Markle’s signature smokey eyes, dewy skin, and nude lips. Meanwhile, Prince Harry kept the focus on his wife by choosing a more traditional outfit that included a collared top, a light blue dress shirt, dark slacks, and brown suede loafers.
