It went almost all the way up to her hip.
When it comes to slits, sometimes, the best policy is to go big or go home. At least that seems to be Megan Thee Stallion’s mantra. Attending the God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards in New York City last night, the rapper donned a sexy little black dress with a thigh-high slit that was so high, it was almost unbelievable.
The fitted, ribbed dress featured a plunging bustier-style bodice with a sweetheart neckline and a retro halter straps. The dress hugged her hips before falling to just below her knees. On the left side, the slit reached all the way up to her upper thigh, adding a daring touch to the look.
Megan styled the chic LBD with a very Y2K butterfly purse, a pair of silver hoop earrings, a chunky white and silver cuff bracelet, and a pair of black heels with a pointed toe. She wore her hair in prom night-worthy curly updo and added some color to the look with a bold manicure in green, pink, and blue.
This is far from the first time the “Savage” singer has incorporated a daring slit or cut-out into her look. Earlier this year, she attended a Los Angeles Lakers game wearing a top with plunging neckline that dipped well below her belly button. Last November, she opted for a sheer nude dress with an asymmetrical plunging neck and a funky side cut-out. Then there was this jumpsuit that had so many cut-outs we lost count.
The musician was awarded the genLOVE award during the ceremony for her philanthropic work through her organization the Pete & Thomas Foundation, which "provides resources for women, children, senior citizens and underserved communities."
During her acceptance speech, she spoke of her late family members and how they inspire her philanthropy.
“I always get a little emotional talking about my parents," she said. "I lost my mom, I lost my dad, and I lost my grandmother. They are the people who taught me the importance of giving back. I never saw giving back as a chore or a struggle. Anything my [family] could give, they would give. So I’m continuing on with their legacy."
“Thank you for honoring me with thee genLOVE award for outstanding philanthropy at the Golden Heart Awards,” she later wrote on Instagram.
