Last week, a slew of editors, creators, and industry pros descended upon the Danish capital to take in the fall/winter 2025 collections shown by top-tier Scandinavian talent. But it was the handbags they carried that stole the show, exhibiting an array of 2025 trends that are already becoming the year’s most popular (and it’s not even March yet!). That includes the oversized medicine bags we’ve seen both on the runways and on street style over the past few seasons, as well as the prevalence of bag charms and the emergence of east-west bags.

Medicine Bags
Medicine bags have been one of the biggest breakout handbag trends for the past few months, thanks to brands like Miu Miu that have popularized the yesteryear style. At Copenhagen, versions in suede and leather triumphed, especially oversized ones in brown and cream tones.
Bag Charms
Last year, there was not a fashion girl out there without charming up their handbags. And judging by Copenhagen Fashion Week, the trend is far from over. From teddy bears and micro mini dangling bags to kiddish toys, there's no limit to what charms the fashion crowd is hanging from their handbags. The more the merrier!
Emotional Support Clutches
Ever since Coach showed giant bear-shaped clutches at their spring/summer 2025 show last September, oversized clutches have taken center stage. At Copenhagen Fashion Week, folded versions as well as fuzzy ones were go-tos for attendees, who carried them like stylish pillows all over the Danish capital. We all need some emotional support somehow.
East-West Bags
The east-west silhouette is 2025’s defining trend, whether on engagement rings or handbags. Thanks to styles like Alaïa’s Le Teckel, bags that look eerily similar to Dachshunds have inundated the runways and street style galleries. At Copenhagen, the fashion crowd preferred blue and chocolate tones, two of the year’s biggest color trends.
