Putting the fantasy in football.
Just one day after Katy Perry announced that she would be taking her Lifetimes Tour to Australia in 2025, the superstar shared that she'd also be performing this weekend at the Toyota AFL Grand Final, which the AFL—that's the Australian Football League—calls "one of her biggest shows since the 2015 Super Bowl." For the occasion, Perry showed off her skills on the turf while wearing a long, embellished skirt and a shimmering iridescent crop top that featured long, trailing wing details cascading from her shoulders.
Perry was seen tossing the pigskin at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and posing with the trophy as she spoke with local news outlets about her upcoming performance. Her long, ankle-grazing skirt featured allover floral appliqués and she paired the statement-making skirt-and-top combo with clear shoes. She wore her long, dark hair parted in the and wore a warm pink lip color and bold brows for the occasion. The outfit was a riff on something from Maticevski's Resort 2025 collection, though the label showed the top without wings and with a ruffled detail, instead.
"It'll be almost 10 years since I did something like this in the States, and to be able to do something like this again after so long, that doesn't always happen for an artist so I'm super stoked," she shared with the AFL, teasing that she'd be duetting with an Aussie artist for her hit song "I Kissed a Girl." Perry previously performed at the venue for the 2020 Women's Cricket World Cup appearance, which she called a "huge adrenaline rush."
It's been six years since Perry last toured Australia.
“It’s a party and you’re all invited! Stoked to see you in June 2025. Get ready for a high-energy singalong to alllllll your faves,” Perry shared along with the announcement.
