She has her formula down pat.
Katie Holmes is the unofficial queen of street style and the poster child for the perfect fall outfit formula. Case in point? The actress stepped out in an easy-to-replicate look that played with proportions and took a styling cue from her daughter Suri’s generation.
Holmes layered an oversized boxy beige blazer over a colorful, printed long-sleeve blouse styled with super-baggy, low-rise blue jeans, sneakers, and a camel-colored leather tote bag. She accessorized with tortoiseshell aviator sunglasses and dainty earrings and pulled her hair into bun.
This isn't Holmes's first rodeo when it comes to putting together an autumnal 'fit, and she seems to have the combination down, pat. Last week, the actress—who's currently starring in the revival of Our Town on Broadway—was seen in a pink button-up and boot-cut denim while on a coffee run.
While Holmes always slays a pair of blue jeans, the director isn't afraid to switch it up. Last month, Holmes was spotted in mustard plaid trousers and a navy blue turtleneck sweater.
While speaking with The Times earlier this year, Holmes confirmed that she does, in fact, have a go-to uniform as a result of living in New York City.
"Living in New York City, I have to have things that are practical and comfortable," she explained. "Usually, I'm in ballet flats, sneakers, baggy jeans, and a T-shirt."
She added that motherhood has also had an impact on her fashion evolution.
"When my child was really small, I was drawn to wearing a lot of dresses," she continued. "You do go through these different phases of motherhood and they inform what you feel comfortable in and what you don't. So, over the years, my style has changed here and there."
