Street style stardom runs in the family.
Allow Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise to inspire your transitional fall wardrobe. Earlier this week, the mother-daughter duo were spotted taking a stroll to the supermarket in New York City, and according to them, all you need is a good jacket to stylishly get you through the season.
Case in point? Holmes bundled up in her favorite camel coat from the Frankie Shop. With its oversized silhouette and ankle-length hemline, the jacket was roomy enough to be worn over her baggy gray sweatsuit while also keeping her plenty warm. She finished off her outfit with a pair of orange-and-blue Pony sneakers, a white tote bag, and brown-tinted aviator sunglasses. Her brunette hair was haphazardly pulled back while highlighting her makeup-free complexion.
Suri, meanwhile, learned from the best and chose an exaggerated denim trucker jacket lined in white sherpa fleece. She layered her coat over a simple white T-shirt and completed her look with a pair of navy blue twill pants and brown Chelsea boots. Like her mom, Cruise pulled her dark brunette hair back into a messy ponytail and had on little-to-no makeup.
This is the first time Holmes and her lookalike daughter have publicly stepped out together since she left for college this August. Cruise is currently a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and is reportedly living in the dorms.
Ahead of dropping Suri off at school, Holmes shared her excitement for the 18-year-old while speaking with Town & Country. “I’m proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy,” the actress said, adding: “I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that.”
