She slayed in the Y2K staple.
Jennifer Lopez took her style cues from the Noughties for her latest red carpet appearance. Amidst her divorce from Ben Affleck, the multi-hyphenate made her toned legs the main character of the evening while promoting a film that the exes worked on together. While attending the photo call for her upcoming movie Unstoppable on Saturday night, Lopez paired an itty bitty bubble skirt with towering platform heels – and somehow made the whole outfit look effortlessly casual.
The “On the Floor” singer showed off legs for days in the tiny bubblegum pink skirt, which featured a tulip-inspired silhouette reminiscent of the Y2K-era bubble skirt trend. As she stepped out solo at the 2024 AFI Fest event at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres, Lopez looked ready for spring as she paired the petal pink piece with a brown leather woven belt and a preppy white polo-style shirt that she tucked into the waistband. In contrast with the minimal fabric of her skirt, the multi-hyphenate added an oversized white jacket that she styled open to show off her outfit underneath.
Lopez, who posed alongside her Unstoppable co-stars and director William Goldenberg of the Affleck-produced film, kept with the pastel color scheme by matching her bubble skirt with towering Gucci platform sandal heels that appeared to add about six inches to the star’s height. The statement close-toed shoes, which featured a delicate ankle strap design and subtle cutouts, were dressed down by Lopez's more casual separates.
The Marry Me actress accessorized with a small white boxy leather clutch and silver rings, putting the focus on her glowing beauty look. Lopez eschewed fall makeup for a spring and summer-inspired beat, highlighting her bronzed skin with a soft pink blush, glossy nude lips, and a navy blue smokey eyeshadow. The “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” star styled her long golden locks into a soft bombshell blowout with a middle part and soft waves at the ends.
