Much like Carrie Bradshaw, Emily Ratajkowski loves a good printed dress that features lengthy bodies of text. The model attended WSJ. Magazine's 2024 Innovator Awards on October 30 in a minidress that recalled the likes of the Sex and the City character's iconic John Galliano Christian Dior newspaper dress.
Ratajkowski walked the carpet for the event in a fitted, white sheath mini that hailed from JW Anderson's Spring 2025 collection and featured a printed excerpt from Clive Bell's book Art in black text.
The dress's text discussed the frivolousness of art critique, and read, "at the risk of becoming a bore I repeat that there is something ludicrous about hunting for characteristics in the art of to-day or of yesterday, or of any particular period. In art the only important distinction is the distinction between good art and bad. That this pot was made in Mesopotamia about 4000 b.c., and that picture in Paris about 1913 a.d., is of very little consequence. Nevertheless, it is possible, though not very profitable, to distinguish between equally good works made at different times in different places."
The 33-year-old kept the rest of her look relatively simple, pairing the frock with strappy black heels and a matching black purse. During the event, Ratajkowski presented the Innovator Award for music to Charli XCX.
According to WSJ. Magazine, Charli and the model—who has publicly shared her love of literature—first met at a JW Anderson show, leading her to pick the designer for her dress of the night. She told the outlet, “I love Jonathan, and I just saw this dress when it went down the runway and was like, ‘I want to wear that.'”
