She walked the red carpet in the Oz-coded look.
Ariana Grande has been busy channeling her bubbly, popular Wicked character with Glinda-coded looks, but her latest red carpet appearance appears to draw sartorial inspiration from ballet. While stepping out at the 2025 Critics’ Choice Awards, the multi-hyphenate–who is nominated for Best Supporting actress–put an Oz-inspired riff on the tutu. Grande’s Dior Couture dress looked like a deconstructed version of a fairytale ballerina’s dress, thanks to its taupe fishnet fabric and a visible hoop skirt.
The “We Can’t Be Friends” singer made a short skirt look red carpet-ready, turning heads in the one-of-a-kind design. Grande’s Dior Couture dress featured a nude bodice with visible corset boning and taupe fabric flowers that were stitched on her straps. Meanwhile, her mid thigh-length hoop skirt featured the same skin-colored fishnet material with visible boning that gave it a ballerina-type tutu silhouette. The same fabric flowers were stitched on her skirt and cascaded to the ground with a fringed design that showed off Grande’s legs underneath. The Disney alum, who walked the red carpet alone before joining Wicked co-star and boyfriend Ethan Slater at her table to watch the show, paired the whimsical dress with a pair of towering black pumps and kept with the flower memo by wearing a pair of diamond flower-shaped earrings.
For her award show beauty look, Grande pulled her strawberry blonde hair back into a sleek side-parted updo that let her Critics’ Choice couture gown take center stage. She accentuated her features with her go-to liquid black eyeliner, a soft rose lipstick, and defined cheekbones.
