Including a sweater and jacket I’m sure will sell out.
Not only did J.Crew re-launch its famous print catalog last week, but the brand tapped long-time fan Demi Moore to star in it. It immediately became one of the week’s most talked about fashion moments, and it’s currently serving as my main inspiration for fall.
The catalog is a major throwback, and so is Moore’s shoot, where she styled the newest drop with her own vintage pieces from the brand. Every look, from her faded jeans and loafers to that bright red sweater with the crisp white pants, felt effortlessly cool. Naturally, I immediately started shopping the fall collection after seeing it.
Below are my top-picks from J.Crew’s fall 2024 drop, including oversized sweaters (a style Moore swears by), vintage-inspired denim, and the jacket I’m convinced will sell out.

Cashmere Relaxed Crewneck Sweater
$158 at Jcrew.com
The first thing to catch my eye from Moore’s shoot was this cardinal red sweater; I mean, that color is everything. A bright red looks good on everyone, but it also makes a really simple outfit instantly more exciting (and takes zero effort). But beyond the color, I really adore the oversized silhouette that gives the sweater a cool, everyday feel, and that you’re getting 100-percent cashmere for a price I’d argue isn’t unreasonable.
1984 Mid-Rise Straight Jeans
$148 at Jcrew.com
Moore’s shoot mixed the new with the old, and I assumed these straight-leg jeans were the latter, but I was very happy to learn they’re not. I prefer a pair of vintage-looking jeans to styles that are actually old (it’s a lot of effort to find a well-aged pair that fits and doesn’t require mending), and these really nail that lived-in look with their fading and subtle distressing. Considering the timeless silhouette and 100-percent cotton design, I truly think this is a style I’ll wear for years.
Collection Classic Blazer
$375 at Jcrew.com
Menswear has been all over my fashion moodboard—I have Moore to thank for that—which is why this blazer went to the top of my wishlist. That chocolate brown shade is quintessentially fall while the pinstripes lean into that masculine look I’m loving. Plus, it’s the perfect layer for cooler but not cold temperatures. If you’re wanting to add a more feminine touch, a mini skirt is the way to go, but I think this blazer (I’m sizing up one for a roomier fit) with a pair of relaxed jeans makes for the perfect everyday-chic look.
Mini Shirtdress
$168 at Jcrew.com
A mini shirtdress is one of my favorite no-effort fall styles. The collar, button-front, and structure do all the work in terms of dressing this up, which means that all you have to do is add shoes. Loafers and tube socks will be my go-to pairing until temperatures dip, but when they do, I’ll be wearing this on repeat with knee-high boots.
Long Barn Jacket
$348 at Jcrew.com
The barn jacket is one of J.Crew’s most iconic styles, which is why I’m convinced this new, full-length version is going to sell out. It maintains the same elements that made the jacket style a staple—the structure, corduroy collar, and elevated gold hardware—but with an extended length and additional removable vest. It’s two updates that allow you to wear it well into winter.
Below, shop more of the styles I’m eyeing from J.Crew’s viral fall collection. (Thanks Demi!)
