Fashion "rules" be damned.
You heard it here first: That old adage about ditching whites after Labor Day is now obsolete. Case in point? Celebrities, like Blake Lively, are already reviving last year’s (and every year’s) trend of winter whites in a major way. In fact, the actress attended one of fashion’s biggest nights in a white-on-white OOTD.
On Monday, Lively arrived at the 2024 CFDA Awards in a white Michael Kors look that included a scooped-neck ribbed tank top tucked into a sequin maxiskirt with a ruched detailing on the hip and a thigh-high leg slit. Layered on top was a matching oversized blazer that Lively wore draped over her shoulders.
The star accessorized with her signature bold flair, opting for a plunging diamond lavalier necklace with a giant stone pendant, matching earrings, a beaded bracelet, and a smattering of coordinating rings. She finished off the striking outfit with sheer, bedazzled pumps from Christian Louboutin.
While on the carpet, Lively posed alongside Kors, who contrasted the actress’s all-white look with a black suit layered over a matching tee. During the event, he was honored with the Positive Change Award for his philanthropic efforts with Watch Hunger Stop, God’s Love We Deliver, and the United Nations World Food Program, per Harper’s Bazaar.
In terms of glam, Lively wore her famed blonde hair in a deep side part and bouncy voluminous curls, complemented by a bronzed complexion and a voluptuous lip perfected by her makeup artist, Carolina Gonzalez.
Later on her Instagram Story, Lively revealed the secret behind her juicy lips: a Gen Z-approved hack. “When @cgonzalezbeauty does the Gen Z eye shadow lip trick to make your lips look huge…,” she wrote over the close-up selfie.
She followed the post up with another snap that captured the aftermath of taking off her makeup.
"But then…You wash off your makeup & accept that you're a millennial girl who, in high school used to wear lip gloss with alarming amounts of chili peppers inside for a plump because we were THAT committed to bad ideas," she added.
