Sirio Pharma at Vitafoods Europe.
17 Sep 2024 — For the upcoming nutraceutical trade show Vitafoods Asia (September 18–20) in Bangkok, Thailand, Sirio Pharma has selected 20 specialized products for Southeast Asian customers. The new range includes gummies, Plantegrity softgels and beauty and wellness products, which the company notes are high-growth segments in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
At booth L19, Sirio will display its products tailored to meet the region’s needs. For example, its Plantegrity softgels are known for their high heat resistance, which is “particularly well-suited for the Southeast Asian climate,” asserts the company.
Alex Du, general manager of the Asia Pacific business unit at Sirio Pharma, highlights the significance of Vitafoods Asia for sourcing cutting-edge products.
“We’ve observed a growing interest in beauty and wellness products across Southeast Asia, particularly in beverages and oral supplements. Our customers depend on Sirio to provide the next big, on-trend products to lead these new markets. We believe our range of beauty products — designed to improve skin moisture and elasticity, reverse the effects of aging, and enhance skin luminosity — will perform exceptionally well at the event, especially among brands in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.”
“Besides these on-trend health products, we are introducing innovative ingredients through three key products at our Centre of Innovation, alongside Sirio’s core range of market-leading softgels and gummies, which can be customized to meet various consumer needs.”
Beauty and wellness solutions
Sirio will also add its Peptivator Collagen Peptide into a birch juice beverage for the show. This ingredient benefits skin hydration and is produced using a precision collagen-cutting technique. According to the company, Peptivator supports skin moisture and elasticity up to three times more than typical collagen peptides.
Both Peptivator and Sirio’s citrus extract Citruslender recently obtained the “Ingredient of the Year Award” in the oral beauty and weight management categories, respectively, at the 2024 Functional Food for Wellness Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Sirio spots a growing interest in beauty and wellness products across Southeast Asia, particularly in beverages and supplements. The birch juice beverage on display at Vitafoods Asia is also enriched with Elastec and Ray Fish Collagen Peptides.
In addition, Sirio will showcase two other beauty and wellness products: Briveal, which supports protection against UV, and the Astaxanthin EGCG Beverage, which is known for its antioxidant properties, sun protection and support of skin elasticity and barrier function.
Nutraceutical advances
Meanwhile, Sirio will display its comprehensive softgel range with gelatin and plant-based Plantegrity options, which manufacturers can formulate with many different ingredients, including multivitamins and fish oil.
The company notes that this is particularly significant for customers in Thailand and Indonesia, which have seen rising demand for traditional nutraceutical ingredients.
At the company’s Centre of Innovation at Vitafoods Asia, Sirio will showcase the benefits of three “game-changing” products — Probioark, LifeChews and Citruslender. The contract development and manufacturing organization highlights that these products offer nutraceutical brands “significant advantages over existing products.”
Citruslender is derived from natural materials and features excellent water solubility. As a result, it can be incorporated into various dosage forms and popular preparations such as oral liquids, gummies and tablets. The citrus and mint double-layered gummy can support respiratory health and weight loss.
Probioark features a three-layer structure that resists gastric digestion to ensure targeted delivery of probiotics. Meanwhile, LifeChews creates a delivery format that enhances the bioavailability of any oil-soluble ingredient.
At this year’s Vitafoods Europe, Sirio highlighted its nutraceutical solutions for the growing women’s health category, with 25 concepts in different delivery formats.
