She loves repeating an outfit.
Kate Middleton may be the Princess of Wales, but she’s the queen of sustainability when it comes to fashion. The royal is not afraid to mix up her wardrobe staples and repeat items—we can all take notes from the time she re-wore a wedding guest look at a royal event. Most recently, Middleton made her first major appearance since she announced her completion of chemotherapy, and her chic maroon suit may have looked familiar.
On October 2, Middleton and her husband, Prince William, met with a 16-year-old photographer who is also battling cancer. For the special visit, the princess sported a merlot suit designed by Roland Mouret layered over a beige shirt. She finished off the look with ornate gold earrings and her signature bouncy curls.
The burgundy suit is likely the same one that Middleton wore back in 2022 while touring Greentown Labs as a part of the Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony in Boston. For that appearance, Middleton styled the two-piece slightly different, layering it over a pale pink pussy-bow blouse and pairing with matching suede pointed-toe pumps.
During Wednesday's event, Middleton surprised royal fans by stepping out for the investiture, where Hatton lensed the photos for the event. Kate and William also took the time to have a one-on-one meeting with the young photographer.
Hatton told the Today program on BBC Radio 4 that she was not “expecting” to meet Kate and William and was surprised by how “normal” the future king and queen seemed.
“Talking to them was amazing ‘cause it was like talking to anyone, like just a normal person,” she said, per People. “There was no sort of grandeur about them, there was just humanity and kindness.”
