The new hair care range is formulated with Chitosan from oyster mushrooms The British small-appliance manufacturer has launched a new heated hair styling tool and wet styling product range that's designed to be used with its heated hair tools.
Dyson has just unveiled its new heated hair tool, the Airwrap i.d.multi-styler and dryer, which integrates Bluetooth® technology to create a personalised curling sequence, as well as its new Chitosan formulations range, a Post-Style Serum and a Pre-Style Cream.
The vacuum cleaner manufacturer first ventured into heated hair tools with the launch of a high-tech hair dryer in 2016 and has continued to disrupt the beauty industry with its latest launches.
The new Airwrap styler automates the curling process based on user profile data such as hair type, length, and skill level. According to Dyson, the device uses intelligent heat control to protect hair from damage and preserve shine. It comes in two options: one for Curly to Coily Hair and one for Straight to Wavy Hair, with a choice of three new attachments: the Conical Barrel for tighter, defined curls; the Wave+Curl Diffuser for improved natural curl patterns; and the Blade Concentrator for a smoother finish.
New hair care formulations
Along with the heated hair tool, Dyson has launched a new ‘Chitosan’ hair care products range: a Post-Style Serum and a Pre-Style Cream.
The brand said that the products are “engineered with Dyson Triodetic™ technology” for flexible, all-day hold with natural movement and shine, and feature chitosan, which Dyson calls “a complex macromolecule derived from oyster mushrooms.”
Rather than source the chitosan from shellfish, Dyson has sourced it from the cell walls of oyster mushrooms.
President of Beauty at Dyson, Kathleen Pierce said the company’s engineers have “rigorously tested to find the optimum percentage of chitosan for all-day, flexible hold, while maintaining natural movement.”
The pre-style cream is designed to prime and condition hair before heat styling to reduce frizz and enhance shine, while the post-style serum repairs surface damage with amino acids, keeps the style in place, and features hyaluronic acid in the formulation to help shield against humidity.
The brand will offer the styling range in four different varieties, tailored for different hair types with specific ingredients, such as grape seed oil and argan oil, to meet different conditioning needs.
Plus, the refillable and recyclable pack has a precision applicator that dispenses the right amount of product.
